The Nitro Thunder Top Fuel dragster will have a playmate for the 2006 season... a one-of-a-kind 1956 Ford Crown Victoria Funny Car. While the dragster will run a full schedule including a run for the Goodguys/VRA Championship Points, the funny car will run a limited schedule consisting of match races, exhibition runs and booked in shows. Both cars will be Donovan powered as to keep the parts inventory interchangeable.

It's doubtful that this will start a trend, but for now Jack Harris Racing is the only nostalgia team fielding a Top Fuel dragster and a fuel Funny Car. As it was in 2005, the dragster will be driven by Brett Harris and Jack will take the seat in the funny car.

As reported, the funny car came with a late model 426 hemi but to keep the Nitro Thunder operation uniform, Jack decided to put a Donovan in it. Now both cars can interchange parts.

The change over was relatively easy except for the headers. They had to be completely redesigned to work in the funny car.
